It works for Alastor as the equivalent of a barely leashed guard dog, though most of the time it can be found in and around the Hotel, usually helping Niffty with her bug hunts or aiding people when they ask it.

It has basically two sides: 

The first is why Alastor decided to keep it and that is its feral cryptid vibes. It’s creepy, it stalks people in dark alleyways, it can rip a person apart without too much effort and thrives on the praise it gets from Alastor.

 

The other is the awkward, mangy pet of the Hotel. It is mesmerised by beauty and glamour and thinks the Hotel is the fanciest thing ever (even before it got rebuilt). It likes to be of help to those it considers friends or family and has a bit of a weird but sweet awkwardness about it.

It is incredibly tall and emaciated looking with a grin that splits its face in two. Though it easily towers over everyone in the Hotel, the fact that it’s always standing crooked and bent means it looks a lot less imposing in height but definitely more creepy and unhinged.

Like Alastor, it’s a deer based demon with large antlers and white freckles. On its skin it has hardened, bone-like structures that mimic the underlying skeleton, giving it an even more haunting look.

General

Though it was, presumably, alone for most of its time in Hell it thrives on contact with other demons. Specifically those Alastor deems to be good company. 

It loves to be around people, listening to conversations, and being ‘part of something’.

Alastor is the one who found it in his own bayou that he had connected to the Hotel. Whether it already lived there or if it managed to get in somehow remains unclear.

He did, however, immediately take a liking to it and it didn’t take long for it to follow him everywhere. Upon finding out how useful it could be he decided to name and keep it. 

Alastor usually has it threaten or disembowel people to make a point, the fact that it barely talks helps with the creep factor. He is quite fond of it, feeds it raw meat, and lets it stay and roam the bayou whenever it wants. 

It took Husk a while to warm up to it but now, despite still thinking it’s fucking weird, he has come to accept it as a part of life at the Hotel. 

He makes it sweet lemonades at the bar and watches it play with the straw and enjoy the drink. There is a quiet understanding and appreciation for each other.

It thinks Angel is the prettiest, most amazing person ever. No matter if he’s in full drag or looking all kinds of roughed up after a particularly long night. 

When Angel is around it freezes up and gets very blushy. It lets Angel do whatever he wants, which is how the Hotel saw it in human clothed and fully cleaned for the first time.

Angel thinks its fun because its attention is genuine and it doesn’t want anything from him, other than just admire him a little.
